Unleash the She 5K and 10K takes place in Rochester on Sunday
Unleash the SHE teams up with the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance to make a difference for hundreds of women and families impacted by ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecologic cancer and a leading cause of cancer-related death in women. The survival rate has barely improved since the “War on Cancer” was declared over 40 years ago. Due to the lack of an early detection test, over 80% of ovarian cancer is diagnosed in the late stages. For these reasons, increased awareness and advocacy are critical.
2. Learn how to Fly Fish
Afton State Park – April 25 – 10-3 p.m.
Join the Women’s Fly Fishing Clinic to learn what you need to know to fly fish. In the morning we will learn about fish and what they eat while learning to tie flies. In the afternoon you’ll pick up new tips and tricks on how to cast more accurately. If conditions permit we will fish on the St. Croix River. A park vehicle permit is required. Register at 651-231-6968.
30 Days of Biking goes through April 30 – so get out and ride.
30 Days of biking has been around for 5 years. The campaign encourages people to bike every day in April, but if this is the first you have heard of it – we say join in now! Be sure to share using the hashtag #30daysofbiking.
4. Get Wild!
It’s playoff season and our Wild have got us going Wild. Be sure to tune in Friday night to cheer on our team. Plus, we challenge you to squeeze in sit-ups, push-ups and squats during the commercial breaks during the first period.

Let’s get a group together to attend Midwest Mountaineering Outdoor Diva Night; Meet at 5 pm to join the wine reception. Indoor climb instruction starts at 6.
4:00p.m.: Wine, other beverages, cheese and munchies – at three different stations – wine and beverage station is in Thrifty Outfitters.
5:00 to 6:00p.m. AND 6:00 to 7:00p.m.: Mississippi River / Stone Arch Bridge Hike – a free pair of SmartWool socks to women completing one of the hikes.
6:00 to 8:00p.m.: Free massage therapy by Benjamin Joseph and Associates (tips welcome).
6:00 to 8:00p.m.: Free climbing instruction and shoe rental in our climbing cave with instruction by Midwest mountaineering employee Carolyn Hansen. Ring the bell for a free zipper thermometer!
