2. Bike!

Bike to School day Wednesday, May 6 is National Bike to School Day. Ways to celebrate: Spend an hour this weekend pulling together your neighbors to plan a bike to school day on Wednesday. Even if your small ones can’t bike to school, it is a great time to fit your kids with helmets and tune bikes.

Seven yurts opened earlier this year at Afton State Park in Hastings, at Glendalough State Park in Battle Lake (northwest of Alexandria) and at Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area in Ironton (northeast of Brainerd.)

3. Go Spring! Trail, Hike & Run

This is the first race in the St. Paul Urban Trail Series.  This first race in the series is a great opportunity to wake up your legs after a long Minnesota winter.  You can run, jog or pole hike the beautiful trails of Battle Creek Park in St. Paul.  By participating in this event you are helping to support a non-profit organization, Endurance United, whose mission is to create a viable, healthy and active outdoor community around Battle Creek Park.  This is a great chance to get active – good for your body and good for the environment.  Sign up alone or bring two friends for our new 3x5k Team Run. To add to the fun, come in a spring themed costume to enter our costume contest!

4. Animal Humane Society Walk for Animals

Grab your fury best friend (all animals welcome!) And join the Humane Society’s largest walk. Can’t make the walk, make a donation.

5. Eau Claire Marathon

Full, half, relay and 5k – the Eau Claire Marathon has something to fit all levels. The Wellness Project founder will running the 1/2 – Good luck Sara!

Get Outside – commit to check out a new route Reward yourself by watching the fastest race of all time – the Kentucky Derby. Mint Julep anyone? Save the Date – The Wellness Project Takeover – May 7, indoor climb at Midwest Mountaineering!
