Labor Day Weekend – Fab 5

It’s one of the last weekends to get on the water.  So we’ve picked five workouts to make the most of our 10,000 lakes.

  1. SUP with Flow Fitness

Stand Up Paddling is helping people of all ages and sizes catch the surfer’s glide, and helping people in all walks of life get fit and healthy. Not only can you lower your blood pressure, lose weight, get stronger and feel more energized after a class, but the overall experience of being on the water and having a sport you enjoy and can do on a regular basis is priceless.

Classes on Friday, September 4th or Saturday, September 5th.

2 and 3. Canoe or Kayak

There are 30 designated water trails described on the DNR’s web site, which also reports current river levels and lists 42 places to rent boats on 15 rivers.  And 33 Minnesota state parks rent kayaks and/or canoes.

4. Paddleboard Yoga with Brown Dog Paddleboard Company

During the summer season we offer Outdoor Paddleboard Yoga classes.  We begin our session with Paddleboard Instruction, followed by a vigorous paddle across the lake where we anchor our boards for a guided Paddleboard Yoga practice. Class is suited to all levels of yogis ages 12 and up. Every class is unique as we allow nature to provide the backdrop and challenges.

SUP H2O Yoga Flow is currently being offered Saturdays 9:00am at Square Lake Park in Stillwater throughout the summer through Washington County Parks and Recreation.  Call here to register:  651-430-8200

5. Wakeboard.  Watersurf.  Waterski.

Classes available at Wake Tonka.  Or find a friend who can show you the ropes!
