Skyfit is an app which streams classes for runners. If you’ve ever been to a spin class at a gym or a studio, it’s a very similar experience, except for runners. The classes consist of three key components

Music – The trainers diligently select popular music which works perfectly with a given run speed or incline. Specifically, the beats per minute of the track will match the pace of your run. This helps motivate you, and ultimately have a more efficient run.

Motivation – Throughout the class, trainers provide the motivation you need to push your run to the next level.

Instruction – Trainers will give you instructions on what incline and speed to go throughout the class, to ensure you have an efficient and effective run. For treadmill runs, trainers provide incline and speed. For elliptical, trainers provide incline and resistance. And for outdoor runs, the trainers provide relative speed instructions.

The 2015 Dave Ryan’s 5K & 10K will be held Sept. 26 at Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE, Minneapolis, MN. Registration starts at 7 a.m, the 10K begins at 9 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9:05 a.m.

This annual event is a fun, family-friendly 5K & 10K run/walk to support the more than 8,000 athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota.

4. Itascatur/ Headwaters 100 Bike Ride

This includes a 45, 75 & 100 mile ride. The longer rides go through Itasca State Park and the 45 mile ride also goes north of Park Rapids. Food and beverage stops include restroom facilities and bike repair. SAG wagons patrol all routes with first aid/ repair supplies.
